2/18/2024 0 Comments Yakima skybox 18![]() So, you went w/ a Thule fairing and the howling went away? That's a big reason why I don't leave my Thule bars on there all the time, they are definitely nosier than factory bars however, will have to try the Thule fairing. I ordered folding wheel step off of amazon so I could get up there and load stuff and I couldn't be happier with the setup. I skeptically ordered the 38" Thule fairing (which is also just about a perfect fit between the rails with about an inch space on each side) and the wind howl is gone. I rode around with just the bars mounted and the howl from the wind was pretty damn bad. With the 50" bars they only stick out about 1" past the factory rail outside edges. I ended up buying the silver thule atlantis 1800 box, and the thule complete crossroads rail system 45050. The 50" crossbars are a perfect fit on the 5th gen. I'll answer my own question in case it can help a brother out. I will say the 18 covers the satellite radio antenna however, we had zero reception problems. I don't think REI will do a 20% off now for you however, you can probably buy now then go back in while the 20% is going on and they can price adjust then (if you are going to be in town while that's going on, or get someone to do it for you). It depends on how much gear you are carrying, the step down on the Thule wasn't large enough for us. ![]() Got our first sticker at Red River, NM last month - will start populating the box w/ the places we've been. Both of these characters, for all of their unique attributes, share a spirit of resilience that I didn’t realize I needed at this point in my life. The original Insomniac Spider-Man game is a sprawling epic, and it carries much the same emotional heft of Miles – if a little less focused. Coming off of Miles, I slid right into the original Spider-Man like a warm pair of worn slippers, and the fit was fantastic. I knew how to get around, and how to dodge rockets, and that I would enjoy the game more if I knocked the difficulty down one notch to feel more superheroic. Jonah Jameson calling me out on his hysterically realistic podcast). I understood that I could ignore side activities and collectathons with little repercussion (other than J. This time, I went into the original Spider-Man fully prepared. But the bottom line is, I found the writing and story in Spider-Man: Miles Morales to carry such weight that I couldn’t wait to jump into Spider-Man Remastered to experience more of that world. Miles’s constant quest to get his loved ones to stop lashing out and just talk to him is very relatable. And maybe Miles’s themes of struggling to connect with those closest to us hit me so hard because I’m experiencing a bit of that in my own life. At a time when I am actively avoiding family members and friends, swinging through a crowd of strangers feels like a poignant reminder that eventually things will return to normal.Įverything is emotionally charged to me in this moment in our shared history – even a game depicting a beloved comic book character. In fact, just the act of swinging through an active and living New York City feels like an act of defiance in the face of the challenges our country is enduring. Miles is one of those prescient works of art that happens to fall at the perfect moment, when many of its themes feel relevant to current events. Indeed, much of Miles Morales seems eerily timely, particularly since I know that many of these moments must have been planned and storyboarded years ago. The other was the well-earned climax of the game, which carried an amazing emotional weight in a time where many find their real-world interpersonal relationships stressed to the point of breaking. One moment was an unexpected reveal of such beauty that I was stunned into a reverent silence by it. There are two moments in this game that caused my eyes to well up with tears, sniffling quietly to myself just like I did when watching Pixar’s Coco in the theater with my daughter (who thought I was insane). I’ve enjoyed all of these games, and even had an emotional response to some of them, but no game has ever made me cry. ![]() There is often talk online about “what games made you cry.” There are some usual suspects: The Walking Dead Season One, Life is Strange, What Became of Edith Finch. But what I wasn’t expecting was the emotional gut punch that Miles delivered. John Yan covered the game’s technical splendor in his great review of the standalone Miles Morales game, so I knew to expect a visual tour de force. What was shocking to me was just how much I loved Miles’s game. I was locked into a Spider-Man game, for better or worse. ![]() I was reviewing the Miles Ultimate Edition, so there would be no bouncing off. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve beaten that Kingpin fight, just to gain entry to the larger open world and go sliding off the game, intimidated by the enormous number of widgets the game asks the player to collect, and slightly irritated by the various science experiment puzzles that Peter Parker must complete to unlock the coolest suits.īut going into Miles Morales, the stunning new Spider-sequel poised as one of the most exciting PS5 launch games, I knew I had to beat the game. I love Spidey, but in the game sphere, he never stuck. The closest I got was probably Ultimate Spider-Man on PS2, but even after getting about three-quarters of the way through, my attention wandered. I played the first Spider-Man game back on the original PlayStation, and I’ve dutifully started almost every Spider-game since then. I suffered through a couple of '90s beat-em-ups on SNES. I was a comic book kid back in the '80s, how could I not love the character? I had to give his games a shot. ![]() Of course, as a gamer I’ve taken swipes as Spider-Man over the years. And the draw-biased RadSpeed Draw lives up to its name with 16 grams situated in the heel (along with seven grams in the back) to launch it high and get rid of that nagging slice for good. The oversize Big Tour (designed to be used off the tee) and compact Tour feature 23 grams near the face to reduce spin and flatten launch. With 16 grams of weight near the face and seven grams situated in the back, RadSpeed is geared for low spin. The weights are placed in smart locations on all three models to produce different ball flights, shot shapes and spin rates. The details: The radial weighting system found on the RadSpeed driver is prominently positioned on the fairway wood but with a twist. NOTABLE USERS: Rickie Fowler, Lexi ThompsonĬheck out 150+ reviews from our gear experts in the ClubTest 2021 collection The RadSpeed standard head is lower spinning and lower flying, the RadSpeed XB (“Xtreme Back” weight) is higher launching and more forgiving, and the RadSpeed XD (“Xtreme Draw”) has heavy heel weighting to encourage a draw shot shape. I have the new LTDx fairway wood on the way to compare with the old version. Center of Gravity was right on the neutral axis and it was super hot and low spin. The OEM used tenants from a popular engineering formula, called the Radius of Gyration (“Rad” stands for “radius”), to spread the weights in the soles of the drivers further to the front and the back of the head for desired performance enhancements throughout the lineup. I still think the original LTD fairway wood is one of the great designs Cobra ever built. Building upon standout designs, such as the new-age CNC infinity milled face and carbon fiber crown, Cobra has also reimagined its sole weighting system. THE DETAILS: Cobra is known to push boundaries with its technologies. It’s easy to see why this neon yellow and black beauty is Bryson’s driver of choice. On the heels of the recently launched 3D-printed King SuperSport-35 putter, Cobra is introducing the new 2021 Cobra RadSpeed irons with golf’s first-ever 3D-printed nylon medallion designed to save weight, increase forgiveness, and fine-tune acoustics. Arccos users have increased their GIR (Greens In Regulation) percentage by an average of 40 when they switched from variable length irons to ONE Length irons. ![]() In addition to noticing lower spin and a more penetrating flight - thanks to a reimagined adjustable sole weighting system - the eye-catching CNC milled face offered sneaky alignment assistance, framing the ball at address. 3D printing has officially gone mainstream in golf. ONE Length is designed to simplify your game so you can be more confident, and more consist from every distance to the pin. Feels great, looks great.” This was the general consensus with Cobra’s latest big stick. There’s some slight carbon fiber you can see in the back, and you can’t go wrong with matte black. As one tester raved, “I love the aesthetic. This was with the stock HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX shaft (which I spoke highly of in that review). Like the rest of the products in the Radspeed lineup, the drivers ($449 apiece) will become available for purchase on January 29 at retail and online.OUR TAKE: With a hammer-like sound and impressive feel, RadSpeed delivered in a big way during GOLF’s ClubTest. As mentioned previously, the drivers use a system of weights on the sole to effect the ball flight in certain ways to benefit certain golfers. Three new driver models, explainedĪs part of the Radspeed lineup, Cobra is offering three different driver models made for three different types of golfers: the Radpseed, the Radspeed XB (Xtreme Back) and Radspeed XD (Xtreme Draw). Shop Cobra Golf King RADSPEED Driver at Rock Bottom Golf for the guaranteed lowest prices on all golf drivers from Cobra Golf. The radial weighting strategy also helps Cobra dial in spin and trajectory throughout the entire lineup. With a wider radius from the sole weights to the CG of the Radspeed clubs, Cobra is able to achieve more “rad” speed. That means Cobra, for example, sought to extend the added weights on the sole of the drivers more toward the edges to boost MOI ( moment of inertia) and overall performance. While “rad” is a slang word, such as “cool” or “sweet,” Cobra’s version of rad really stands for “radius,” or “radial weighting.” Basically, with the new Radspeed products, Cobra wants to improve something called the Radius of Gyration, which Cobra says is the distance from the club’s center of gravity (CG) to where the added weights are located. 2/17/2024 0 Comments 2013 chevrolet equinox![]() Once the kids are in school you can slide the seat all the way back to make room for growing legs and growing backpacks. You can slide one or both sides to make room for a gargantuan rear-facing child-safety seat, then slide it forward once your child switches into a forward-facing seat - just in case you need to reach back and hand off a sippy cup or two. The real showstopper in the Chevrolet Equinox is its 60/40-split sliding backseat (it moves back and forth up to 8 inches), which can prove quite useful for a growing family. I stashed my favorite travel coffee mug in one of them, and upon opening the driver’s-side door it went flying across the library parking lot, lodging itself under another car’s nasty, dirty, slushy car tire. Pockets in each of the four doors are quite shallow, making them less effective. The center console was incredibly deep, enough to accommodate my laptop, but its narrow size makes it ineffective for an average-sized purse. In addition to the usual two cupholders up front, the Equinox also gave me an extra open storage area just behind the gearshift that fit my phone perfectly. Eighteen compartments come standard, according to Chevrolet. The Chevrolet Equinox’s designers must be parents themselves, because there’s a nook and cranny to store anything and everything you might need in a day. With the backseat moved all the way back, I would have loved a wider door opening, offering a roomier entrance into the backseat. I only wished for larger doors in the Equinox. The Subaru Outback has a relatively high 8.7 inches of ground clearance even though its roofline is slightly shorter overall than the Equinox. ![]() The Equinox is low enough to the ground that all three of my children, ages 8, 10 and 12, could climb in and out fairly easily. It meets a nice, modern, androgynous middle ground. It has smoothed-out lines without being too feminine or curvaceous. It manages to look upbeat and sporty without feeling testosterone-laden. The Chevrolet Equinox is one of the few vehicles out there that appeals aesthetically to everyone in my family - or at least wasn’t overtly offensive to either my husband or to me. If you’re in the market for something like the Equinox, you may also want to check out the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Kia Sportage. See the 20 models compared side by side here. The 2013 version hasn’t changed much since the past model year, the only major change being the addition of that available 3.6-liter V-6 engine, a step up from the entry-level 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. I drove the well-equipped AWD LTZ with a new 3.6-liter V-6 engine, plus optional MyLink radio with navigation. Shoppers can choose between FWD and AWD in any of the Chevrolet Equinox trim levels, which include LS, 1LT, 2LT and LTZ (see all-wheel-drive versions side-by-side here). When climbing in for the first time, my 10-year-old daughter exclaimed, “Mom, this is the coolest car ever! Can we pretty please keep it?” The 2013 Chevrolet Equinox is a capable crossover SUV with a sliding rear seat that can flex and grow with your family, draping occupants in an interior that’s more luxurious and spacious-feeling than many of its body-type competitors. |
